Under the main theme of «ADVANCING LOCAL CONTENT ACROSS THE OIL AND GAS SUPPLY CHAIN IN AFRICAN PETROLEUM PRODUCING COUNTRIES», the conference dealt with a large number of issues related to the promotion of Local Content in oil and gas activities in Africa. The event recorded 267 participants from 23 different countries, including Ministerial delegations from Angola, Cameroun, Chad, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Libya, Niger and Nigeria.
The general consensus, during the event, was that local content needs to be across the full value chain and the next steps should include a move towards industrialisation, expanding the midstream and downstream sectors. Focused, targeted strategic plans are imperative, underpinned by transparent and good governance framework.
AME Trade, would like to thank all who participated in making this event a success. A special thank you and acknowledgement goes to the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, Republic of Angola, for endorsing and hosting the event in Luanda, and our key sponsors and supporting partners for their commitment and assistance in making this conference possible.
We commend APPO and their member countries for their continued dedication to promoting local content. We hope these deliberations prove to be successful and look forward to showcasing how the recommendations have been implemented in all African petroleum producing countries.
