Your arrival in Luanda:

Airport transfers

As a participant, airport pick up on arrival and drop off on your return journey is included in your delegate package. However in order for us to do this, please inform us of your arrival / departure time and flight numbers. Please also inform us of where you are staying so that we can take you to your hotel directly. If we do not receive this information then we cannot guarantee your collection at the airport.

Shuttle bus service

We will be providing a shuttle bus service during the event to take you to the conference venue and any other activities that are connected with the event. Please check your hotel for the latest timetable information when you arrive.


What should I bring with me to Angola?

  • A photocopy of your passport – as it is always advisory to carry your ID with you
  • Insurance – you are responsible for arranging your own travel cover
  • Credit card – Visa and Mastercard are accepted at the main hotels, however please check with the hotel before you depart as sometimes changes occur.
  • Medical Kit – always a good option just in case
  • Your mobile phone – you can buy a local SIM
  • Your yellow fever certificate

If you are taking any electronic items to Angola, the voltage requirement is 220 Volts. Angola uses the European standard two pin plug.

Visa is required for all except Namibian nationals.

Ordinary Business Visa ( if applying 30 days before travel date) – Recommended!

This visa is granted for the purpose of business visits, meetings, conferences, etc.

The visa must be used within 60 days of being granted and entitles the bearer to stay for 30 days, which can be extended twice for further thirty day periods. An ordinary business visa does not entitle the bearer to establish residence in the country or to engage in any remunerated activity.

Short Term Visa (if applying the week before travel)

  • This visa is granted for for meetings and conferences
  • The short stay visa does not allow the holder to establish a residence in the country, or engaging in any gainful activity.
  • The visa must be used within three (3) days after its issuance and allows the visitor to stay in Angolan territory for up to seven (7) days. It can be extended for a further seven (7) days at SME in Angola.
  • Applicants are advised that possessing a airfare ticket does NOT entitle the granting of the visa.
