A mining specialist with some 20 years’ experience in public natural resource management: researching, writing, making presentations, recommending and implementing policy, especially in the minerals and mining sector.
Jerry Ahadjie is currently the Chief Minerals Officer at the African Natural Resources Centre of the African Development Bank.
Mr. Ahadjie previously worked with the Ghana Minerals Commission and rose to the position of Deputy Manager in charge of Sectoral Policy, Planning and Projects.
Mr. Ahadjie graduated from the University of Science & Technology (School of Mines, Tarkwa, Ghana) with BSc (Hons) in Mining Engineering in 1997. He subsequently graduated with an MSc in Mineral Exploration (GIS Based) from the University of Twente (ITC Faculty of Geo-information Science & Earth Observation) in the Netherlands in 2003. Mr. Ahadjie has several professional certificates in mineral policy & economics, strategic management, mine closure, project management etc.
Mr. Ahadjie has to his credit a number of publications/presentations, especially on Ghana’s mining sector, fiscal regimes, small scale mining and sustainable development through mining.
