Biography

Jefferson Warloh Wylie was born on 13 May 1963 in Kpalor Town, Juarzon, Sinoe County, Republic of Liberia. He completed primary and elementary education at the Pyne Town Elementary and Junior High School in northern Sinoe County, St. Joseph Catholic Junior High School in Greenville and Boatswain Junior High in Monrovia. He received the secondary education at the Bravid Washington Harris Episcopal High in Monrovia. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from the Department of Geology University of Liberia in February 1990. He served first as a junior hydro-geologist then as the technical manager of a small water well drilling enterprise Geoservices.

He was employed as the Assistant Director of the Liberian Hydrological Service (LHS) in 1996. From 1999 to 2003 he was seconded as the hydro-geologist to a gold exploration company (Freedom Gold, LTD). He was promoted to Director of the Liberian Hydrological Service in March 2009. He participated in many water management and hydrology related seminars and training workshops in Africa and Europe. He is a Head of Cooperation Area 4 “Upgrading National Hydrometeorological Network and Database” of the Institutional Cooperation between Ministry of Land Mines and Energy and The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE).
