Mr. Shahid Mohammad is a Senior Energy Executive with more than 29 years of experience in the electricity utility sector working in Canada, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer of Liberia Electricity Corporation since July 2010. Prior to his current undertaking, Mr. Shahid Mohammad was the General Manager of Kenya Power in charge of Distributions, Customer Services and Regional Management for four years. With a Masters in electrical engineering, he is registered as a professional engineer in Canada. He also holds an MBA from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions during the KPLC-Management Contract, Manitoba Hydro International has won “The 2008 Canadian Manufactures & Exporters Award for the Construction, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Physical Infrastructure”. The Award was given in Vancouver, Canada to recognize the excellence of Canadian companies, organizations and individuals for their commitment to the development of a sustainable physical infrastructure in developing countries.
His contributions in massive customer expansion program at KPLC helped KPLC win “The 2008 Metering International Excellence Award for Africa”. This was a prestigious award given out to outstanding utilities in an international utility week conference held in South Africa.
