Chris leads PwC’s Africa Oil & Gas Advisory practice, supporting clients across the entire value chain from upstream, midstream to downstream, as well as oil field services companies. In this sector he and his team support and deliver strategy design, capital programmes, operations improvement, supply chain improvement, market entry, feasibility studies and transaction advisory services.
He has nearly 30 years’ experience in professional services working with clients in the hydrocarbons and energy sectors and at PwC has held various roles in industry leadership, business development, client relationship management, proposal management and project controls.
Chris has a strong track record of working across territories and multiple sectors to develop strategy and implement operational improvements to achieve business growth. He has developed significant business and commercial acumen, communication and influencing skills. He is a regular speaker on the oil & gas industry in Africa, and he has been responsible for seven editions of the PwC Africa Oil & Gas Review, which provides insight into the oil & gas industry across Africa. He also published a thought leadership piece on the potential for the development of a natural gas industry in South Africa titled “The Gas Equation”, and contributed to thought leadership on the future of national oil companies in Africa titled “The new nation builders” and perspectives on the transformation of the oil and gas sector title “New energy futures”.
Chris holds an MBA in Oil and Gas management from the Robert Gordon University (UK) and is a qualified chartered accountant.
