Roberto joined Scatec Solar in 2013 based in Cape Town, South Africa. Roberto’s experience with Scatec Solar started as Project Manager for the financial closing and execution of the 40MWp Linde Project in Round 2 of the REIPPP and lately as Project Technical Manager for the the financial close of the 40MWp (3 Projects) Jordanian portfolio. Roberto was also responsible for the origination and development of the 40MWp Mocuba Project in Mozambique and has been involved in various other developments across the Sub Saharan Africa Region.
His expertise in the utility scale development of PV projects comes from his education background and more than 9 years of experience in the R&D industry and developing, financing and constructing projects across Europe and Africa.
Roberto is graduated in Engineering for Solar Technologies at the Technische Universitaet of Berlin.
He has been working for the Joint Research Center of the European Commission in the Scientific Technical Reference System for Renewable Energies and Energy End-Use Efficiency at the Institute for Energy for one year. After that he decided to move to the private sector joining Next Energy Capital, one of the leading European merchant banks investing in renewable energies.
