The launch press conference of the 5th Senegal International Mining Conference & Exhibition, hosted on Tuesday, the 18th September 2018 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Dakar was highly successful. Addressed by the Minister of Mines and Geology, Senegal and other promulgators of the mining industry representing both public and private sectors, the press conference achieved it goal of setting the tone for activities and preparations towards a successful conference and exhibition through the acknowledgement of the roles of various stakeholders, including state institutions, the private sector, civil society organisations and the media.
Organised by the Ministry of Mines and Geology, Republic of Senegal in association with AME trade, the 5th Senegal International Mining Conference & Exhibition is the only event supported by the government of Senegal dedicated to expanding the country’s mining sector, providing unparalleled insight into Senegal’s new mining code and development plans.
Established as one of the largest mining events in West Africa, the Senegal International Mining Conference & Exhibition is back for its 5th Edition in Dakar, Senegal at the optimal time with all eyes set on West Africa’s untapped geological potential and Senegal being in the forefront. The country is on the brink of major mining boom and under the spotlight as one of the world’s fastest growing regions for gold and iron ore production. Evidently, Senegal is a current hotspot for mining investors.
SIM Senegal is organised by the Ministry of Industry & Mines, Senegal in association with AME Trade Ltd. and will take place from the 6-8 November 2018 at the Hotel King Fahd Palace, Dakar. The event will be attended by key stakeholders in the mining industry from both public and private sectors. Thereby, serving as an ideal platform connecting connect government with international mining companies to strengthen and expand the mining industry and also to look at areas in order to enhance mining operations to ensure success of major projects.
