Conakry, Guinea – April, 2019: The Ministry of Mines and Geology of the Republic of Guinea was thrilled to welcome to Conakry more than 800 mining industry professionals for the Sixth edition of the Symposium Mines Guinee, SMG 2019. The event took place on 24 – 26 April 2019 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, in Conakry, capital of the Republic of Guinea. Held every two years, the SMG is the region’s largest Mining focused conference. It began with the Opening Ceremony on 24 April 2019 and official opening remarks by His Excellency Alpha Conde, President of the Republic of Guinea.
Keen to promote Guinea as an attractive and ideal mining investment destination, the Ministry of Mines & Geology, Republic of Guinea organised the 6th edition of Symposium Mines Guinea, in partnership with AME Trade Ltd, under the theme of “The synergy between mining & infrastructure: the challenge for Guinea’s integrated and sustainable development”.
Since 2004, the SMG has created an authoritative platform to connect, learn and synergise with the stakeholders of the industry, from both the public and private sectors. SMG 2019 has gathered 836 delegates, 81 exhibitors, representing more than 30 countries.
SMG 2019 Organizing Team was honoured to have His Excellency Professor Alpha CONDÉ, President of the Republic of Guinea, inaugurating the event, and also H.E Abdoulaye Magassouba, Minister of Mines and Geology, Guinea and Dr Donald Kaberuka, Co-founder & Managing Partner, SouthBridge Group Inc.
