Substantial mining growth has been shown in the South American region, with Merian Mine in Suriname having just poured its first gold. Merian contains gold reserves of 5.1 million ounces and production is expected to average between 400,000oz and 500,000oz per annum. The discovery of oil in the Guyana-Suriname basin is also a significant event with an estimation of a potential 14.2 billion barrels of oil.

SURIMEP 2017 will integrate these and many other focused topics into the programme which will also involve knowledge sharing sessions and presentations from the area’s most prominent organisations.

Grassalco N.V. , Republic Bank (Suriname) N.V. and the Baitali Group have joined the event as official sponsors.

This event brings together important actors of the mining, energy and petroleum sectors. For more information on exhibiting at or sponsoring this event, contact marketing@ametrade.org or visit www.ametrade.org/surimep/
