Building on the success on the previous edition, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum in Ethiopia in association with AME Trade Ltd, United Kingdom, will organize the second edition of the Ethiopian International Mining Conference & Exhibition (EIMC 2019) at the Hotel Sheraton, Addis Ababa.
Ethiopia has huge potential in a diverse range of mineral resources (gold, gemstones, tantalum, industrial minerals, potash, lithium & rare earths). The government is planning to use the mining sector as a key pillar of Ethiopia’s Growth and Transformation Plan (GTPII) which aims to make Ethiopia a middle-income country by 2025.
It was recently announced that holders of large-scale mining licenses for precious minerals will benefit from a decrease of royalties and more incentives are expected to be unveiled before EIMC takes place.

Circum Minerals Ltd. is a private company developing a world class potash deposit in the Danakil Basin of North-eastern Ethiopia. The Danakil Potash Project is a significant stand-alone deposit with a mineral resource of 4.9 billion tonnes of potash salts within an overall estimated 13 Billion tonnes of total potash rich mineral salts located within the project area.
Circum Mineral’s project is unique in that it has been designed to produce both sulfate of potash (SOP) as well as muriate of potash (MOP) with a minimal carbon footprint. Phase 1 will produce 750,000 tonnes per year SOP and then expand to produce in total 3.5 million tonnes potash per year. As the project is a world-leader in terms of both technology and cost, rapid expansions are planned.

Mallian Mining, and Construction Services,(MMCS), began operations in January 2014, in the U.S.A by contracting out its drilling, and blasting services to Quarry mines, and construction companies in Mid-Atlantic area. These operations are continuing today, and will provide a path to expand our services into Ethiopia.
With drilling, and blasting equipment supplied from our US operations, MMCS Ethiopia will
provide its services to the mining, and construction industries which have been identified as sectors that are significant for the potential economic growth of the
MMCS, will also provide mining development, and explosives handling consultancy
services, further enhancing the abilities of private and public sector entities to engage in
mining, and construction. We will be consulting with government entities with regards to
capacity building for the safe handling, storage, and manufacture of explosives, and with
private mine operators concerning cost efficient, and environmentally conscious exploration, and extraction methods of their ore bodies.
