Who Needs a Visa?

  • All persons coming from countries which are not exempted from visa requirements – Please refer to Visa Requirement Country-wise (See below).
  •  All persons coming to Mauritius for purposes other than Tourism, Visit or Business need to apply for a visa/permit before undertaking any travel.

Your arrival in Mauritius: Airport transfers

 As a participant, airport pick up on arrival and drop off on your return journey is included in your delegate package. However in order for us to do this, please inform us of your arrival / departure time and flight numbers. Please also inform us of where you are staying so that we can take you to your hotel directly. If we do not receive this information then we cannot guarantee your collection at the airport.

Shuttle bus service:

We will be providing a shuttle bus service during the event to take you to the conference venue and any other activities that are connected with the event. Please check your hotel for the latest timetable information when you arrive.  The shuttle bus service will be available at the recommended hotels.

 What should I bring with me to Mauritius? 

A photocopy of your passport – as it is always advisory to carry your ID with you
Insurance – you are responsible for arranging your own travel cover
Credit card – Visa and Mastercard are accepted at the main hotels, however please check with the hotel before you depart as sometimes changes occur.
Medical Kit – always a good option just in case
Your mobile phone – you can buy a local SIM

 What currency do they use in Mauritius?

The currency in Mauritius is the Mauritian rupee – MUR.  When you arrive at the airport in Mauritius you will see a host of exchange bureaus at the arrival halls. Just bring your own currency and change it on arrival.  Alternatively,

In banks, you can change or get money with:

* cash money

* travellers cheques

* bank debit card with Maestro or Visa sign and secret number  (PIN)

* credit card (Visa or Mastercard) with secret number  (PIN)

ATMs are plentiful and easy to use in Mauritius. Your own bank may charge a fee to process cash withdrawn from ATMs. Check first with your bank to see it they charge a fee.

What voltage is used? Electricity

Power supply is 220 volts and there are two pin and three pin plug points in every room.
