Jean-Pierre Favennec is awarded a diploma by the School of the Chemical Industries of Nancy and by the School of the Oil and by the Engines where he obtained a diploma in Economy of the Energy.
He began his career as consultant in energy industries. He intervened for numerous companies of the private sector and the public sector, for administrations, for bodies of development.
He realized numerous studies of industrial projects, industrial strategies, energy policies and supplied the recommendations in very numerous sectors. He intervened in more than 50 countries, Europe, America, Asia and Africa
Since 1990 Jean-Pierre Favennec is a professor in the IFP School (School of the Oil and Engines). As such he intervened with the biggest Companies in France and in the World
Jean-Pierre Favennec was Director of the Economic and Management Center du School of the Oil and Engines 2000 to 2007. He was an Expert Director at the School of the Oil and Engines and was also the mission manager of the Scchool , from December 2007 to December 2009.
Jean-Pierre Favennec is a specialist in energy, especially oil. He has published several books and articles on topics related to the economics and geopolitics of energy, in particular Refining Operations and Management (French and English 1998 and 2002), Oil and Gas Research and Production (French and English in 2011), Energy Markets – Energy at What Price? (2006 and 2012), Geopolitics of Energy (French 2009, English 2017), Atlas Mondial des Energies (Armand Colin – 2015).
Jean-Pierre Favennec works for courses and conferences at many French and foreign universities as well as for professional and international organizations. He is also a consultant to energy companies and international organizations.
Jean-Pierre Favennec was the creator, organizer and director of the conferences International Oil Summit, International Gas and Electricity Summit, held each year in Paris
Jean-Pierre Favennec is particularly well known for his work on Africa. He is the President of the Association for the Development of Energy in Africa (ADEA).
Every year, he organize numerous conferences in Africa, in particular the Energy Summits in Africa, which are held in various African countries (Senegal, South Africa, Mauritania, Togo).
