Ghana will host the annual initiative shaping the oil & gas industry through sustainable local content policies

Accra, April 2019: AME Trade is pleased to announce the 3rd edition of the Africa Oil & Gas Local Content & Sustainability Summit, ALCSS 2019. The Summit will take place from 10 – 11 October 2019 at Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, Ghana.

African oil and gas producing countries have embraced local content development strategy as a means of diversifying their economies and ensuring the trickling down of their oil and gas resources exploitation’s benefits for employment generation, value addition and economic growth. With increase in globalization and protectionism, there is the need for African countries to leverage on their oil and gas resources to create development linkages for sustainable economic development through local content policies.

On its 3rd edition, ALCSS 2019, is designed with the specific aim of stimulating national industrial development through increased local capacity. Running under the theme of “Shaping the Future through Sustainable Local Content Policies”, the event will focus on the sustainability of local content regulatory and institutional frameworks that have been, so far, implemented by African Oil & Gas Producing countries, to enable and advance local economic development.

AME Trade is also pleased to announce that GNPC is the host sponsor of ALCSS 2019. Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, in line with its growth strategy, aims to catalyse on local content development to create an appropriate environment for Ghanaian participation in the upstream sector of the petroleum industry. In addition, the African Petroleum Producers Organization, APPO, supports once again ALCSS, the leading African conference shaping local content future.

ALCSS 2019 will gather all petroleum stakeholders from both public and private sectors: government representatives, policy makers, international & national oil companies, E&P companies, services providers and decision makers from the industry.
