IMC Morocco Mining Excellence Awards 2025
Federation of the Mineral Industry of Morocco (FDIM) in partnership with AME Trade Ltd, as organisers of the Morocco International Mining Congress (IMCMorocco) are proud to announce the inaugural IMC Mining Excellence Awards 2025, a distinguished initiative recognising leadership, innovation, and sustainable practices shaping Africa’s mining landscape.
The Awards celebrate the individuals, companies, and institutions driving transformation across the mining value chain — from exploration and technological innovation to community engagement and environmental stewardship.
Taking place during the 2nd Edition of the IMCMorocco in Marrakech, the Awards will serve as a highlight of the congress, honouring those who exemplify excellence, integrity, and forward-thinking leadership in mining.
The IMC Mining Excellence Awards are more than just a celebration — they are a recognition of progress, resilience, and responsibility. They shine a light on those who are redefining what success looks like for Africa’s mining industry.
Award Categories
IMC Morocco 2025 Award Categories include:
- Best Poster Award
Celebrates outstanding research, innovation, and technical contributions showcased during the IMC Morocco poster sessions. This award recognises individuals or teams who present complex ideas in a clear, impactful, and visually engaging way, advancing knowledge and practice in the mining and minerals sector.
- Start-Up Project of the Year
Acknowledges the achievements of an emerging mining venture or entrepreneurial initiative that brings new ideas, technology, or business models to the sector, contributing to local value creation and sector transformation.
- Best ESG Project
Recognises a project that demonstrates outstanding commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and strong governance, setting a benchmark for sustainable mining practices in Morocco and Africa.
- Woman in Mining Leadership Award
Honours an exceptional woman whose leadership, innovation, and influence have advanced the mining sector, inspiring greater gender equality and empowerment across the industry.
- Mining Company of the Year
Rewards a mining company that has consistently delivered operational excellence, fostered innovation, prioritised community development, and demonstrated strong contributions to Morocco and Africa’s mining growth.
- Pioneering Mining Project of the Year
Celebrates a landmark mining project that showcases excellence in planning, execution, and delivery, while driving measurable economic and social impact for the sector and host communities.
- Lifetime Achievement Award to the Mining Sector
Pays tribute to an individual whose career has had a defining and lasting impact on the mining sector, through visionary leadership, dedication, and contribution to the development of the industry.
A Platform for Recognition and Collaboration
The IMC Mining Excellence Awards underscore the integral role of the mining sector in supporting Morocco and Africa’s sustainable growth and energy transition. Through these awards, IMC Morocco aims to foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and collaboration across African mining.
Nominations are now open to companies, institutions, and individuals across Africa. Winners will be announced at during IMC Morocco at the Palmeraie Rotana Resort, Marrakech.
