WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION PAGE FOR PIAFRICA 2023

The 6th edition of the Pension Funds and Alternative Investments Africa conference, PIAFRICA 2023, will take place from 15-16 March 2023 in Balaclava, Mauritius. This will be the 6th edition of the Pension Funds and Alternative Investments Africa conference. It takes place annually in Mauritius in the northwest of the Island. The 1st edition took place in 2018. The conference annually brings together Investment Managers, Pension Fund Managers, and Institutional Investors from across Africa, to uncover new opportunities and potential threats for pension funds investing in alternative investments.

This is a unique event for the continent of Africa, no other conference exclusively deals with investment in alternative investments for Pension Funds. The conference addresses the opportunities and challenges faced by institutional investors, (pension funds, banks, mutual funds, hedge funds, assurance, and insurance). An Institutional investor is a company or organization that invests money on behalf of its clients or members. Typically, institutional investors will through trustees and investment committees allocate investments and assets to investment and asset management companies to invest allocations on their behalf. These asset and investment companies can have a range of portfolio options or set up funds for investment.

The conference aims to help institutional investors face as well as benefit from the challenges and opportunities of investing in alternative assets. Institutional Investors’ primary goals and objectives in pension fund investment can be summarised as safety, growth, and income. Liquidity and Tax Savings are the secondary objectives of an investor. Institutional Investors as the name implies are institutions, not individuals.

We look forward to welcoming you to Balaclava, Mauritius, on 15-16 March 2023.
