  1. Could you give us an overview of your experience in the mining industry ? (A brief overview of your current role and organization)

Answer : First of all, our commitment to the mining industry is based on promoting and defending the interests of our members, which include major mining companies, subcontractors, and suppliers in Senegal. Since our establishment in June 2013, our chamber has played a vital role as an intermediary between the mining sector, the state, and civil society, thereby contributing to constructive dialogue and promoting responsible practices within our industry.

How do you see Africa, and particularly Senegal, benefiting from Africa-Europe collaborations in creating responsible mining supply chains ?

Answer : Regarding Africa-Europe collaboration, I want to emphasize its crucial importance in strengthening transparency, innovation, and responsible development in the African mining sector, including in Senegal. We firmly believe that this collaboration will benefit all stakeholders by fostering fruitful exchanges, encouraging the adoption of high ethical standards, and stimulating investment in sustainable practices.

In your opinion, what does the future of the African mining industry look like ? As a speaker at MOTA, what ideas or key points do you hope participants will take away from their participation in the event ?

Answer : Concerning the future of the African mining industry, we are convinced that it relies on a firm commitment to ethical and sustainable practices throughout the supply chain. We emphasize transparency, fair labor practices, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility as fundamental pillars to ensure the longevity and prosperity of our sector
